If you are one of many home-owners in search of the perfect vanity that boasts the look of a fine piece of furniture while offering the storage and details of quality cabinetry, you’re in luck.  You can have the best of both worlds when you use custom and semi-custom cabinetry.  While many free-standing vanities are perfect options for certain spaces, you aren’t limited to them.  There are a few tips and tricks that your cabinet designer can use to make your spacious bathroom vanity look like you found an amazing piece of furniture all on your own.

Furniture-style legs are the primary detail in giving your vanity the look of hand-crafted furniture.  They create varied heights and allow for detailed “feet” that are found on some of our favorite pieces in our home.  If you love the look of a piece of furniture, but the thought of seeing (and cleaning) beneath it makes your head spin, we can solve that problem too.  Simply add furniture base molding and a recessed toe kick behind and rest assured you won’t find dust bunnies nesting under your new vanity.

Additionally, the simple use of a piece of molding between upper drawers and lower doors of a vanity cabinet adds a level of detail you won’t find on standard stock cabinets.  Lastly, don’t forget your accessories.  Place a favorite picture, a small bowl of fresh blooms, and use light fixtures that resemble those in your living spaces.  You’ll thank yourself (and so will your guests).
